The first annual Dr. Peter B. Dent Memorial Lecture is on Thursday, September 22nd from 8:00-9:00am. Tickets are limited, so please register online today.
The Lecture was established in 2022 by the Department of Pediatrics, colleagues, friends, and family in honour of the late Dr. Peter Boris Dent, an exceptional pediatrician who founded and was the driving force behind the creation of what is now known as McMaster Children’s Hospital and the adjacent Ronald McDonald House. In his memory, this annual lecture will address emerging new research leading to improved pediatric healthcare in our community and beyond.
Our guest speaker is Dr. Maggie Larche, professor of Medicine at McMaster University, and Head of Rheumatology at St. Joseph’s Healthcare. Her lecture will speak to lessons learned from Dr. Dent, important clinical and research initiatives inspired by him, and ongoing research efforts.
This is a hybrid event. We encourage you to enjoy the lecture in-person but you are welcome to watch the lecture on YouTube:
Following the lecture, guests are welcome to join a special in-person reception in the MDCL Atrium.
In advance of the event, we welcome you to share memories and reflections of Dr. Dent in this dedicated space online.
