Undergraduate Visiting Electives
All undergraduate visiting elective applications must be submitted and processed through the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC) student portal. Applications are not arranged by the student directly with the department/division.
Undergraduate McMaster Student Electives
Block Electives
Students apply online through MedSIS and confirm the elective if accepted.
For additional information including restrictions and requirements, please refer to the PC Directory on Medportal prior to submitting a request.
Horizontal and Community Electives
The student must schedule horizontal or community electives directly with a supervisor of the division.

Postgraduate Visiting Electives
Trainees must schedule visiting electives directly with the subspecialty division. After scheduling the elective with the division, trainees must complete the Postgraduate Medical Education visiting electives application form at least eight weeks prior to the scheduled elective.
