General Pediatrics Overview
Overview
The general pediatric fellow will rotate through various inpatient and outpatient clinical settings, including general pediatric wards, pediatric emergency, child advocacy, child development, consulting pediatrics, and subspecialty clinics.
Outpatient fellow continuity clinic takes place over the course of the entire fellowship. Elective rotations, subject to the approval of the fellowship director, are also available and encouraged to assist with personal goals and interests.
Fellows foreign to the Canadian system will have standardized early rotations to assist with familiarization of the hospital, pediatric residency, and fellowship program and expectations. Evaluation is based on the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario pre-entry assessment rogram and assessment verification period.
Upon completing the training, McMaster University’s Postgraduate Medical Education will issue a certificate of completion. The fellowship is not accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
We are seeking candidates who have a keen interest in general pediatrics and who have demonstrated a strong work ethic.
