Child health innovation showcase returns to McMaster, March 2025

The McMaster Child Health Research Day (MCHRD) is set to return on March 26, 2025, bringing together child health researchers, clinicians, learners, and community members from across Hamilton and beyond.

The full-day event, held in McMaster University’s Student Centre lobby and CIBC Hall, is designed to showcase McMaster’s latest research breakthroughs and innovations that aim to improve the health and well-being of children and families.

Co-hosted by McMaster University’s Department of Pediatrics, the Offord Centre for Child Studies, CanChild, and the McMaster Centre for Health Research on Disease (MODR), MCHRD has become a flagship event for Hamilton’s child health community. This annual showcase highlights the next generation of McMaster-trained researchers and fosters collaboration across Hamilton’s healthcare ecosystem.

Last year’s event drew a record 350 attendees and featured 137 research studies, underscoring McMaster’s leadership in pediatric health. The audience included Members of Parliament, such as Lisa Hepfner, and keynote speaker Mike Lake. The 2025 showcase promises to be just as engaging, with networking opportunities, research presentations, workshops, and poster competitions.

MCHRD 2025 will feature presentations from researchers focused on diverse fields, including clinical care innovations, chronic condition management, social determinants of health, mental health, and patient and family engagement.
