Five pediatric faculty mark career milestones
As a new academic year begins, five faculty in the Department of Pediatrics are celebrating academic promotions in 2023.
Constantine Samaan and Brian Timmons have been promoted to full Professor. Samaan is a pediatric endocrinologist whose research interests include obesity, diabetes and inflammation. Timmons holds a Canada Research Chair in Child Health and Exercise Medicine and is the director of the CHEMP Lab, where the science of play and movement is his focus.
Rae Brager, Naveen Sidhu, and Jennifer Twiss have been promoted to Associate Professor. Brager is a pediatric immunologist and allergist in the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Immunology. Sidhu is a physician at MCH’s pediatric critical care unit and supports many learners as the PICU Fellowship Program Director. Twiss is a neonatologist who provides world-class clinical care and learner education in the MCH neonatal unit – one of the largest and busiest NICUs in the country.
Outstanding clinical care, innovative research, and education excellence are thematic across these promotions, as faculty contributions directly advance Pediatrics’ vision of a brighter path for every child and their family.
