We provide care for such conditions as:

• Epilepsy
• Developmental delay
• Headache
• Neuro-immunologic disorders
• Demyelinating disorders
• Movement disorders (including Tourette syndrome)
• Stroke
• Spasticity
• Rare neurogenetic and neurometabolic diseases

Our out-patient services include our general neurology clinics as well as specialized clinics that focus on:

• Complex epilepsy, including assessment for epilepsy surgery, vagus nerve stimulation, and provision of liberalized forms of diet therapy for epilepsy.
• Spasticity, with multidisciplinary assessment of children and youth with cerebral palsy, management of medications and botulinum toxin injections and ethanol nerve blocks.

For inpatients at McMaster Children’s Hospital we provide consultation to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), general pediatric wards, the Pediatric Oncology ward, and the Child and Youth Mental Health Inpatient Unit.

Detailed diagnostic analysis of seizures is able to be undertaken through continuous inpatient video-EEG recordings which are carried out in our busy two-bed EMU (Epilepsy Monitoring Unit).
