All division members are dedicated teachers. Our faculty facilitate training at the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels of medical education including our Royal College accredited fellowship program in developmental pediatrics.

The majority of our clinics are located at the Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre, but also at the main campus of McMaster Children’s Hospital. In addition to general developmental clinics, we run a variety of specialized, multidisciplinary clinics such as the neuromuscular clinic, transition clinic for children with physical disabilities, spasticity clinic, cleft lip and palate clinic, complex developmental care clinic, eating and feeding clinic, ASD hub clinic and spina bifida clinic. We also engage in outreach clinics through local schools.

Our developmental pediatricians are involved in several areas of research including studying transition to adulthood, cerebral palsy, autism and application of the International Classification of Functioning Framework.

We engage in close collaboration with several dedicated research groups including CanChild Centre for Childhood Disability Research, McMaster Autism Research Team (MacART), and Offord Centre for Child Studies.
